Plans
The Planning staff is tasked with managing the vision for future growth and development of the City. This includes preparing plans for the City’s future growth, prosperity and quality of life; helps the public understand City policies and development regulations; and evaluates development projects to ensure they meet high standards of quality, sustainability and amenity for the community.

The Planning staff also includes Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialists that provide mapping and analysis services to departments throughout the City. GIS is used to create graphical representations of plans and visual depictions of data. GIS is a core information-age technology that is assisting the city in achieving its top priorities of increased public safety and economic development while helping create a more customer friendly and efficient municipal government.
