The Employment Division is responsible for overseeing Citywide recruiting and employment efforts in filling all job vacancies within the City. An updated listing of job vacancies can be found each week on Government Access Channel (Cable channel 16), or by calling the City's Job Line at (704) 854-6622. Our job vacancies are also listed here as well as the Employment Security Commission's web site at www.ncesc.com. The City's Employment Division is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at City Hall, 181 S. South Street.

Offers of employment are contingent upon the candidate meeting the essential functions of the position, and passing a controlled substance evaluation prior to the employment. For some positions, physicals, driver checks, and polygraph evaluations are required.
