The Police Department is a highly-trained, professional law enforcement organization, and the second-largest urban police department in the metropolitan area serving more than 77,000 citizens. The department's mission is to "Protect, Serve, and Enhance the Quality of Life for All." To accomplish the mission, the department has a strong emphasis on community policing and problem-solving efforts. Various partnerships are formed, as needed, to help prevent or address crime trends.
