UPDATE OF FLOOD HAZARD OVERLAY ORDINANCE & MAP
The City of Gastonia is required by the State of North Carolina to periodically adopt new Flood Insurance Rate Map, (FIRMs) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) for the City’s Planning Jurisdiction. The update to the Flood Hazard Overlay Ordinance and the adoption of the new FIRMs and FIS is a requirement of the City’s continued participation in the National Flood Insurance Program, administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the State of North Carolina.

Interested citizens are urged to contact the City for additional information.
