Subrecipients & Housing Development

Community Development provides financial assistance for the following organizations and activities:

 

As One Ministries

Supports operating costs of day shelter, resource center and Housing First program for homeless individuals and families seeking assistance to end the causes of their homelessness. 704-862-6079

 

Gastonia Housing Authority

Homeless prevention program to assist families and individuals that meet the program criteria with security deposits for rental of Section 8 and public housing units.  For more information please call 704-864-6771.

 

Reinvestment in Communities

Assistance to develop partnerships with agencies to address chronic homelessness and to develop additional programs to address identified area needs.  For more information please call 704-866-6766.

 
Gaston County Interfaith Hospitality Network

This program assists homeless families in providing direct shelter and supportive services to end the causes of their homeless situation. 704-854-9880

With Friends

This transitional living program assists male youth between the ages of 18 and 21 in providing them a safe place to stay, comprehensive skills training and support services that will help them alleviate the barriers that affected their homelessness state so they can be productive citizens of the community. 704-866-7774

CHDO – Community Housing Development Organization

The City of Gastonia and the Department of Housing and Urban Development has designated RIC, Reinvesting In Communities, as a Community Housing Development Organization.  RIC assists the Community Development Division with housing development for low and moderate income individuals and families.  For more information please call 704-866-6766 or by e-mail Mary McCreight
