Welcome to the City of Gastonia Department of Public Works and Utilities. The Department provides a wide range of municipal services to our citizens and customers. The Department is dedicated to maintaining our "Commitment to Excellence" in service as reflected in our Mission Statement.
We are dedicated to continually strive toward excellence in the delivery of municipal services to our citizens and customers in the areas of Water Distribution and Treatment; Wastewater Collection and Treatment; Transportation Systems; Engineering Services and other Public Works and Utility Programs.
The Department's administrative offices are located at 1300 North Broad Street, Gastonia, North Carolina. Currently there are 202 full-time employees (excluding part-time employees) representing 22% of the total number of employees of the City. For Fiscal Year 2005-06 the Department's Operating Budget is $31,625,937 and a five year Capiltal Improvment Budget of $15,000,000. The Department is divided into four major divisions each of which is responsible for development and administration of their operating and capital budgets.
