Duties
The water and sewer section of Field Operations is charged with the maintenance and construction of 531 miles of all water distribution facilities, including over 23,000 water taps. The City is currently providing water services to areas inside and outside the City limits. For newly annexed areas without water service, the City will provide a basic water system for fire protection. Once the basic system is in and upon petition and payment of fees, lines will be extended to areas that have greater than 50 percent or more of the property owners who want water service, in accordance with the City's Water and Sewer Policy.
We are also responsible for the maintenance and construction of 489 miles of sewer collection systems, including over 20,000 sewer taps. The City currently provides sewer service to areas inside and outside the City Limits. For newly annexed areas without sewer service, the City provides a basic sewer service. After annexation, water and sewer rates will be adjusted to City rates. Once the basic system is in, and upon petition and payment of fees, lines will be extended to customers in accordance with the City's Water and Sewer Policy.

Water and Sewer operates from the Operations Center at 1300 N. Broad.
