Duties
The Street Maintenance area of Field Operations is responsible for maintaining aproximately 312 miles of City streets and 100 miles of State streets. This maintenance consists of resurfacing streets, sweeping main roads, flushing streets, repairing concrete curb, gutter and sidewalks, and repairing potholes.

Street Resurfacing
Periodically, the City of Gastonia, in conjunction with a street surveying consultant rates every street in the City on a scale of 1 -100 (100 being the best condition). This is used as a guide to determine which streets are in need of resurfacing.
Location
Street Maintenance operates from the Operations Center at 1300 N. Broad Street.
