Q: How can I obtain a copy of a police
report I have filed?
Police reports may be obtained from the
Records Bureau Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Records is closed on Sundays and holidays. There is no charge for residents of Gastonia for the first
copy. Non-residents pay $1 per copy. You may call 704.866.6702
to make sure the report has been completed and turned
in to Records.

What can I do?
Filing a report is often just the beginning
of the process. Follow-up calls to a supervisor or investigator
are recommended if you wish to check on the status of
your case or if you are not satisfied that the problem
is resolved.

The Crime Scene Investigation division of the Gastonia Police Department on Thursdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. There is a fee for this service. You may call 704.866.6864 for more information.

I obtain this?
Certified criminal record checks are provided
by the Clerk of Court at the Gaston County Courthouse
located at 425 N. Marietta Street. There is a fee for

Where do I pay this ticket?
Tickets for minor traffic violations may
be paid at the Magistrates' Office prior to your court
date. More serious offenses require a court appearance.

the Gastonia Police are paid at the Collections
Division at City Hall, 181 South Street.

The Magistrate's Office issues warrants.

Q: When is the firing range open to citizens
and how much
does it cost?
Gastonia Police Departments' Firearms
and Training Facility is open to the public when not utilized
for police training. It is normally open to the public
on Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m. The range allows shooting rifles only, not pistols.
The cost is $5 per hour
for Gastonia citizens and $8 per hour for others. Customers
bring their own guns and ammunition. Targets are provided. For more information call the shooting range at 704.866.6734.
