Gastonia provides a scowl dump truck to residents on a first come, first serve basis for the disposal of large quantities of building material, brush or trash. This program is operated during the months of March through September. There is a $50.00 charge per truck for the use of this program. It should be scheduled 2 to 4 weeks in advance. Gastonia provides pick-up for appliances, tires off the rim, metal and large furniture on a call-in basis. Please contact the Solid Waste Division’s Customer Service Center at 704.866.6774 or 704.866.6894 to arrange a pick-up or send e-mail to General Services.
