The Equipment Services Division maintains a wide range of vehicles including all police and fire vehicles, street and sanitation trucks, city buses, essentially, everything with wheels. Overall, there are approximately 800 vehicles and pieces of equipment. Equipment Services, also, maintains the fueling station.
Equipment and vehicles are routinely scheduled for preventive maintenance and checked for predictive and corrective maintenance during repairs. Mileage and running hours are monitored via computer on all equipment.
There are twenty (20) full time employees including one (1) welder employed in the Equipment Services Division. Over half of these employees are ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Master Certified Technicians. The City benefits from ASE-certification in that it is a valuable yardstick by which to measure the knowledge and skills of individual technicians as well as the commitment to quality of the repair facility employing ASE-Certified professionals.
