A: The Gastonia City Ordinance section 12-4 prohibits open burning by individuals within the city limits. Limited types of cooking and campfires are allowed with prior approval.

A: We do not have free car seats. However, we do have seats available for a reduced rate for those parents that are receiving government assistance. We also assist parents who are installing their own child's car seats. Go to the Car Seat Program for more information.
Q: Are fireworks illegal?
A: Most fireworks are illegal in North Carolina. This would include any firework that explodes, spins or lifts off the ground. For example bottle rockets, firecrackers and roman candles are all illegal. Permissible fireworks include sparklers, "snap and pops" and "glow worms" that do not explode.
